April 21, 2007

.......We have now had 3 competitions and the dancers have finished each time with a Sterling Silver or a high silver...... don't ask what Sterling Silver is because all I know is it is better than Silver. And this means they have accumilated enougth points to qualify for the national competition in Anaheim, Ca. Aundrea is very puffed and she is also excited that Auntie Robin wants to go with them. I am not going because by then I will be really broke. The finals are in late July and Nathan is getting married the 7th of July in Missoula. Aundrea will go with us so she can see the cousins again.
......I am making a dress for me, the grandma and one for Aundrea... I have mine cut out and have fabric for Aundrea's but no pattern...and Laughing 1 no real idea what I want it to look like. But we will be there with Bells On Laughing 1 as my family used to say.
.......Oh and there is more... Aundrea will be in a ballet this spring, she will be a brown moth or as her teacher calls it.. the Night Butterfly! The spring show this year is on her birthday. So we figure we will get a couple of cakes from Costco and some paper plates and have the party back stage between shows. This of course requires another costume fee and a fee for the extra lessons to learn the dance. I guess that leaves NO room for summer school....Boo Hoo! ;-) I already told her mom that there would be no summer school this year. We have done it for 2 years now and the teachers need to teach during the school year. I can't figure out why this kid who was reading when she went to kindergarten, suddenly can't read. And she hates math..... coming from this family that is no shock. She can do all of it but not fast enough to pass the WASL...good grief who cares? Certainly not me. And I know that is a bad attitude, Lorna tells me that all the time. "School is more important than dancing." I think she is jealous cause none of her kids or grandkids are bright or talented. Well one is a gymnist and pretty good too I hear........... but of course nothing like our little star.
****************************************************************

........Ok, change of subject.... yesterday I sent Roy to get stamps and send a package. I gave him 4 letters to put stamps on. I figured he would go to the guy at the counter and get 4 stamps. Oh not him... he put some money in the machine in the lobby and got some stamps and put them on the letters and mailed them. When I got home from PetSmart he handed me the rest of the stamps........ I looked at them and said.. did you put these on the letters? he said yes and I said well we should get them returned on Monday. He had some how gotten 24 cent stamps. Why do they even sell them in the machine? What do you send with a 24cent stamp? Maybe a postcard????????????
Good Night All!

March 11, 2007

........Maybe, just maybe this one will go....... As I have mentioned we have a newish dog. Daisey is just a tiny little thing and so cute and sooooo SNEAKY! The little stink is a shopper , she shops in my purse, my knitting bag, on the end tables......... and the things she finds just amaze me. If it is edible she will have it in a heart beat. I have taken away many "treats" that we didn't even remember having. She loves candy... expecially chocolate.. so I have to keep it put up and my purse put up. She found a sucker that none of us can even remember seeing before. She was under the table peacefully enjoying it. Cough drops are another favorite. She runs around the living room and drags all the toys out to a big pile in the middle of the room. This is her daily chore, I think. Then she guards them.
Nathan is getting married. Now I know he isn't old enough.... well maybe he is but I hate to think so. His intended is Lydia who he has known since high school... they are in school together in Butte. I think she is studying to be a veternarian... and last I heard he was taking radiology. Of course that may have changed. The wedding will be July 7, 2007 at 7 pm. Now I need to find a dress that isn't too grandmotherish or too bare. Keeping in mind that it will likely be hot.

Feb 11, 2007

......Well, Robin got her truck back. But now it is Roy's. We had told her to come and get the car that we had here that wasn't running and forget the truck, she would never see it again. So she and Matt spent most of a week working on it. So she has it and the truck is ours. Dimwit left it at a parking lot at southcenter. I am sure it was because the tags expired Feb. 1. I figured he would just put some stolen plates on it. He did not show up for court so this Wed they are haveing a continued session. I seriously doubt that he is showing up for that either. All of the garbage about how he was so sorry and so stupid, blah, blah. All garbage! Vomit that is what we think of him.........!!!!
........I love the new 'smileys'... they are so funny and some like the puking one are so bad. It is good to be bad sometimes. Like today, no matter what I did it just turned to dirt. I cooked a turkey and it was fine. Then I put the potatoes on to cook and they were done and the gravy wasn't boiling like the direction said and so I drained the potatoes and got ready to mash them and the gravy boiled over... all over the place. Nice mess that was. Then after dinner I began to bake cupcakes for Aundrea's party tomorrow and somehow the oven got turned down to 3oo instead of 350 so they sort of cooked very slow and didn't brown. Frosting will fix that and due to the gravy thing, the kitchen is cleaner now.
............Friday, Michelle called and said she was going to pick the kid up and to have her grab her stuff and get out cause she was taking her to her friends to go to a dance with her. And she was borrowing a dress from her. Aundrea was not sure about this no way. She didn't want to wear one of Luna's dresses, why couldn't she wear her own, etc. Well she called me on Satruday and asked to come over. So I said how was the dance..... she was just full of it. It was sooo much fun and the dress she got to wear was soooooo cute. Good grief, what a change!
......Well it is late and I am off to bed. Later, gator.... Alligator

Jan 29, 2007

..........Well here we are in the new year and it is just not beginning well. It bagan last year... Robin's ex got arrested for identy theft and drug manufacturing and for some reason she and her room mate bailed him out and let him stay with them as long as he was clean. Which he mostly was... now his court date is nearing and he has paniced and gone back to the drugs. He picked a huge fight with Robin and took her truck on Friday. She has not seen it since but has had many many text messages and calls from him. According to him, yes he relapsed but it is all her fault cause she sent him to buy the drugs for her. NOT BLOODY LIKELY! And they got booted out of the house they were renting because the Redmond and Fife police did a raid and searched it and told the landlord that there were drugs found. Not true. Landlord found out different and that it was an illegal search cause no Pierce Co people were involved and the Redmond and Fife guys had no jurisdiction there. They arrested Tod and then Pierce Co released him.
.....Roy, Eileen and I were over there all day yesterday helping pack up the house and get it ready for the movers to come today. After the last couple of weeks, Robin has about 1/2 of a nerve left and the idiot is mangleing it. Mine are shot too as are everyone elses. I had Matthew call him this morning to tell him that I have his mom's pic and the video tribute to her that I will hang on to for him. He will not oppose me too much cause he figures I am the nearest thing to a mom he has. He is right but he doesn't realize that I warned him no to "screw Robin over or he would be dog sxxt." And he did it anyway. So probably his last friend in the world is all used up. :-( OH WELL!!
.....On to brighter stuff. There must be some.... OH YES... our oldest grandson is getting married in July in Missoula. We are going and will take Aundrea with us. She will likely get to have a room with Rebecca and this makes her very happy. She adores Becca. And I think Becca thinks Aundrea is pretty cute.
......We are all looking forward to the wedding and to having a short vacation. Now the big quandry is what to wear. I am the grandma so I am sure I can be a bit off and no one will care. But still we want to not clash in the pics.
.......Finally the Holiday dance show was held the 20th of Jan. It was cancelled in Dec because of the snow and ice and so now the holidays are FINALLY over. OFFICIALLY!! We really thought it would not happen. No more Xmas music at dance lessons. On to putting the show June together.
.......And I am sure you will be thrilled to know that Daisems has finally learned to use puppy pads. In the bathroom. What a low I have sunk too. I guess I am officially a eccentric old lady. I have had friends in the past who let little dogs use puppy pads in the house and I thought it was bad......... well to each his own I say. LOL... at least I don't heat her food in the micro. (yet!)

Dec 13 2006

Last night I put in a lonnnnng post and it disappeared... so I will do a short one and see what happens.
.....We have adopted another dog... she is very tiny and fluffy and does just what she wants. Her name is Daisey and she is about 7 years old. She is a pomerainian. She is very quiet and when she does bark it almost sounds like she has laryngitis.
........ok, this next part is copy and paste from an email that I sent last night.................
This morning I called out to the shelter to see when they planned to do something for the cat with the broken leg. It took me 3 tries to get through to Chris and she put me on hold to get to Renee and that took 3 more tries. The new automated phone system only works when it wants to and today was not the day. Renee said to come out and get some pain meds for her and set up a date for the surgery. So we went out and met Josh who asked when she had her last bandage change. ha ha ha.... never? So we went home and got Sallie. Josh changed her bandage and gave her some meds for pain and and made an appt for surgery. Good to go. So I told Roy to take her to the car and I will be right out. I wanted to use the bathroom. OH that was a BAD idea. I got in, close the door, sit on the throne and look at the door. There is a sign on it that says... the latch on the door is broken and if you can not get it open,,,,, knock loudly and we will come let you out! Well HELL. Now if I had seen this sign before I went in, I would have stayed out. Ok so of course I can't open the dang door. I can turn the stub of the knob to get the latch in and I can even put a credit card in to hold the latch open, but I can not get ahold of anything to pull the door open. So I banged. And banged and banged some more. Then I found the plunger and used it to beat on the door. So I got my cell phone out and was going to call Roy to come open the door. Ha... his phone has NO time on it. So I call the shelter number. Remember how much luck I had earlier? Well my luck hadn't changed. So I am banging with one hand and dialing with the other....... no, I cannot get through on the shelter phones. DAMN!! This has gone on about 10 minutes or longer..... I have no idea. I finally think that I have Renee's cell number in my purse. I hope she carries her phone during work ...... she does! I explain my plight and she comes and lets me out. She looks to see what is wrong with the door and sees NO knob. I tell her if the sign had been on the outside of the door I wouldn't have used it. WHAT SIGN? I take it down and hand it to her. Man she just went into orbit............. The sxxt hit the fan. She took off to find the shelter manager with the paper in hand. I left and came home.

Dec 12, 2006

......Well it has been a day or so since I wrote anything. 2 months to the day. The long awaited dinner auction is over and was a success with just a bit of friction. Aundrea's dress was lovely and she had a blast. The smaller girls got to carry auction stuff around for people to look at and she was thrilled. Since then we have had several performances and this week end is the big benefit show. We don't have to do anything but show up with the kids so they can dance.
.......We went to the humane society a couple of weeks ago to pick up a cat that had a broken leg and needed a place to live for awhile. While we were there I found what I thought was a pomerainian puppy. She was very small and adorable. Well she was NOT a puppy but 5-7 years old and she now lives with us. Her name is Daisey and she has a mind of her own. She is very quiet but bossy with Nick. He was just getting to like being an only dog and then she comes along and tries to take over. She is very different than Cleo was but just as bossy. She is also not housebroken. Maybe that is why she was dumped? But we are working on her and she finally consented to use a puppy pad. Now that may have been a mistake on her part but we are hoping she will get used to it. On the plus side she was trained to a kennel so she is willing to spend time in a carrier. She eats in it and sleeps in it. We got a dog bed out of the basement and she loves it. She is too tiny to get on the couch or chairs ( and out vet said not to encourage her to as she has bad knee. Runs in the breed....) so she was doing fine and along comes Nick and jumps in and takes it over. She got in too and he growled at her. What a snothead. Do Eileen gave me the cat bed that looks like a tv set..... cute and she jumped right in. Great.... so who is sleeping in it now? WELLINGTON.
......back to the cat with the broken leg... Sallie... She is a big yellow lady. Very sweet and she will be loosing her leg soon as it is not healing and it is very messed up. So our vet in his "wisdom" or lack there of.... took off on vacation. This morning I called out to the shelter to see when they planned to do something for her. It took me 3 tries to get through to Chris and she put me on hold to get to Renee and that took 3 more tries. The new automated phone system only works when it wants to and today was not the day. ......The whole event reminded me of a time when we got locked in to Mike and Gina's bedroom. Only Mike finally heard us banging. Oh and the time Dianne got locked in the bathroom at Johnny's Dock in Tacoma or the one in the hotel in Seattle..... some how I think she was watching and laughing and snorting coffee at me!!

Oct 12 2006

......My friend Jo, came down from Canada last week. She came to have a lunch with some friends from the internet. Her trip down was not a good one. She missed the turn for Edmonds and the ferry and had to go through Tacoma in rush hour.... she called me and said she was at Fred Meyers, I was going to tell her to wait and I would come get her until I discovered she was at FM in Tacoma. So I gave her directions to get back on the freeway and just follow it and then to call me when she was at our local store and I would go get her. She finally made it and we had a great visit that night. The next day she went off to lunch and came back to say that the fella she was meeting was a toad. So we called Eileen and she came out for dinner and we had Pizza and killed a bottle of wine. We had agreat visit and then the next day I took her to look at the new waterfront businesses here. When she was ready to leave, we put Nick in the car and drove up to Kingston, to the ferry and had her follow us. She said it was a much easier trip home. And Nick had a outing. While we were waiting to make sure Jo got on the ferry, I saw a lady carrying a dog that looked very much like Cleo, except no black on the face. It seems Nick saw it too, cause Roy said that he whined and yipped, I guess he thought his Cleo was coming home.
........Sunday, I had Michelle and Aundrea meet me at the fabric store to look at patterns for a dress for Aundrea for the Major Motion dinner auction. We finally found a pattern that we all agreed on and then we found some material. While we were in line to have it cut, we found some we liked better and it was cheaper. So now we have pattern, material, zipper, thread.... last night Aundrea asked me if I had worked on her dress yet. No I have had other things to do. "Well what is more important than my dress?"..... Well mayby the top I want to make to wear to Yakima next week. ;-)
...........Tuesday, Michelle called me about 10 minutes after school had let out and told me no one had gone to pick up Aundrea and could I go. She would be right over to pick her up at our place. OK, so I sent Grandpa and called the school to let them know because I figured she was in the office by now. The lady answered and I told her who I was and what I wanted and she said she was not there but she would look outside. Ok... so I am placed on hold. FOREVER. Finally she came back and picked up the phone and said."this is Terry, how can I help you"? I said I was still looking for Aundrea. OH, Aundrea. Well she would call her teacher because she was sure she must have gotten on a bus. NO. she doesn't ride the bus, we always pick her up in front of the school. Well maybe she walked up to the road. So now I am again on hold.... finally I hear the truck coming back and I look out and still on hold, mind you, see that the kid is with Grandpa. They are in the house and I am still on hold. Finally she comes back to tell me there just are no children at the school. I said never mind her Grandpa has her, he picked her up in front of the school while she was out side trying to locate her!!!
