Five Dollar Friday....

.........Last night was $5 Friday at the Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle. Having no idea what it was but that it was cheap and a preview to the newest ballet being performed by the PNB, we (me and Eileen) hopped a ferry and met Michelle, Aundrea, Janet and Luna there. I was expecting to be in a theatre watching it on a stage. NO. it is done in the PNB studios, much like the ones our kids practice in at the DAnce Gallery only larger and with a very small audience. And it was NOT traditional ballet. It was very modern dance and quite odd. The company director was there and between sets would talk to the audience and answer questions.
........Luna and Aundrea had been taken by the mom's to a place in Bellevue called something like Libby Lu's? They had thier hair and nails and makeup done. It was very cute. Both girls had pink in the ends of their hair. It looked very different on Aundrea's blonde than on Luna's almost black hair.
........After the ballet was over they had juice and cookies and gave out posters of the new show. We got one for Erin, Aundrea's ballet teacher. Another girl, Jessica, from Aundrea's class was there with her mom and grandmom too. Jessica will be appearing in a local presentation of Nutcracker so we will go see that one instead of the one in Seattle.
........I called Aundrea to day to see if she liked it and she really did. I asked her if she wanted to go to the next one in January and she said yes, then she asked her mom if she could and mom said yes but grandma will have to take you. So that leads me to think that Michelle didn't have as much fun as we did.

............Now for other news... there really isn't much. We have a new mama cat with 4 kittens. She is a very sweet girl and the kittens are very young. And very furry and soft. We have them in a cage with shelves on it and Roy gave Mama some soft cat food on a paper plate and put it on the shelf. Mom took a couple of bites and jumped down and pulled the plate down and shared with her kids. Today I left the upper door of the cage open so she can get out and I am not sure she has gone back in. It must be a relief to be away from the babies for awhile.
...........The other day Roy took Eileen to an appt and while she was there he parked down by the park to read his paper until she called him. ( he has his own cell phone now). A little kid was walking along and tossed something down for a squirrel and a crow dove down for it and just as he grabbed it the squirrel grabbed the crow and there was quite a fight. But the squirrel won. He said it was very funny to watch.
............. and that and the fact that we paid out a gazillion $$ to the vet for Cleo after the receptionist said "Cleo doesn't need an exam she can just have her shot!" is about all the news from here.

Oct. 22, 2005

.................Well I haven't written in a while cause I have been busy. We had the humane society gala... always a fun night and I hope they made lots of money... And I went to the CASA Convention in Wenatachee. I went with 3 other Casa's from here and some of our staff. Friday night when we got there they had a reception at the local winery. The snacks were really awful except for the grapes and cheese. And the wine was terribly costly so we left and went to Shari's for dinner. But the rest of it was fun. The meals were all included and everything was very nice. ONe of my classes on Saturday afternoon was cancelled and I tried to get into another class but they were all full so I just went for a walk. Didn't find anything interesting but it was a beautiful sunny day and very warm. We had class after breakfast on Sunday and the one I took was 'and overview of Autism and Asbergers' and that is about what it was, an overview. Didn't learn much that I didn't already know. Only 'new' thing I learned was that the digestive problem Johnny has goes with the autism or asbergers tho they don't know why.
...............A couple of weeks ago I had my left turn signal go out. I forgot to tell Roy then he forgot to fix it.... then he fixed it and it worked for one day and so we were back to square one.... he fixed it again and this time it seems to be ok......... well today the right rear turn signal went out.. so I called Roy and told him, just to cheer him up. I was driving across town and a cop pulled me over. Told me my tail light was out, the whole thing. OK, he gave me a ticket to have it fixed. Then as he was leaving he said "you know they come in threes!" well wasn't he just a cheery sort?!
.......... A couple of weeks ago, our friend Terry was moving in with his fiancee and gave me the new chair she had given him when he had his heart surgery. It is brand new and off white. It is very nice. Well we have these 6 rotten kittens we are fostering. When you foster kittens you know the signs that they are ready to go back. They are now climbing the curtians (literly) and swinging on them, and climbing up the back of hte chairs with little tiny distructive claws. The knock stuff of the end tables as fast as we pick it up. I told Roy the other night the only difference in them and 6 toddlers is we don't have the diapers and bottles and we can put them in the cage. The other night I was eating dinner in the living room and little Boots (yes she has white feet, her brother is Sox for thet same reason), ran up the side of the chair and as fast as I knew she was there she had a big mouthful of my au gratin potatoes. She really liked them!!AND everyone says how can you send them back, I would be so broken hearted. HAHAHA!! Maybe with one but not with 6!!

NEWS ITEMS.....

......The old BS, now known as the Kitsap Sun, KS,,,,, has been just full of news lately, not just ordinary news but odd things... for instance it was maybe 2 weeks ago Satrurday that Lora brought us this gold and white cat.... a really nice cat, she had found in the road and wanted me to take it to the humane society cause she just couldn't do it. So ok, we kept it overnight and took it in the next day. On the following Friday morning we went out to pick up our current litter of babies and I went in and visited Mr Kitty. He was just as loveable and sweet as ever.
........On Monday I took my offering for the auction and fundraiser out and stopped in to see Mr Kitty and he was gone. Now that was odd because he hadn't been there long enough to be neutered yet. Maybe he was in back awaiting surgery.
.......A few more days go by and there appears a story in our KS about pets stolen from the Kitsap Humane Society. A dalmation puppy was taken on one day and a gold and white cat on another. So now we know what happened to Mr Kitty. I just hope who ever took him is VERY nice to him. WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH THESE IDIOT PEOPLE??

........Next news story.....
...........From the everglades via Miami and the KS. It seems that a 5 or so foot python got a hankering for aligator and tried to eat one as long as he was and blew himself up doing so. Talk about your eyes being bigger than your stomach!! Now you all know what i think of snakes so it couldnt' have happened to a better species. It seems from the news story that people have dumped several pythons in the Everglades. Oh gee, guess they think we don't have enough native slime.
