......This last week seems like a month. Cleo got sick and was in the vet for several days, then she got pnemonia and there was just no chance of her recovering... we had to put her down on Thursday. We are very lost with out her. But at the same time do not have to worry about her getting her meals and meds at specific times. Nick doesn't care when as long as you feed him.
.......Dress rehersal was on Friday at 12. That meant we were supposed to be there at 11. Then they had to stay for the next one at 4pm.... we didn't because it was just too darn long. There are 2 shows, one in the afternoon for the younger kids and some of the solos and one in the evening for the older group. Performance team closed the first show and then all of Aundrea's dances were in the second show .... The show was on Saturday and it was 2 very long long days. But it was a great show and the video this year is wonderful. We had a real true professional do it and we had a live feed to the dressing rooms backstage so we could watch it as it happened. I can't wait for it to get here and then I will have Marc make me a couple of copies of Aundrea's dances. I wish Icould have a copy of the little little ones in the "chicken" dance. They were in tiny little black leos and had multi colored feather tutus and wristlets. One of the little girls had had enough by the show so she entertained the audience doing a strip act with her feathers.
........Our weather yesterday broke records for high temps. I have no idea how hot it was but too darn hot. The upstairs stayed hot until very early morning. Today was alot cooler but still hot. I would have driven up to Lorna's to swim but it was too hot to even do that.
.........I went on the school field trip to SEattle Center to see a play....(good grandma points here.) It was Junie B Jones and Monkey Business. It was a pretty cute play and the kids got to see fire trucks and it was a wonderful day weather wise. UNTIL we tried to get 2 school buses on the ferry coming home. They would not let us on. We hadn't made reservations. Of course no one knew we had to. So we had 2 buses with at least 50 1st and 2nd graders and rush hour traffic in SEattle and Tacoma. It was just too much fun. I have to say the kids were very good and it was a reasonably quiet trip home.

........Today is one day short of 12 years since I quit smoking. So I am congratulating my self!! I have now NOT smoked for almost half as long as I smoked.
.......In my last post I said that Aundrea was not going to do Major Motion but that has changed. Marc pointed out to us that we didn't read the whole thing. She will still perform with the performance team but she will take 1 extra class that will be a competition jazz class. This means she will do more competing so we must now look for sponsers. I have NO idea where to begin looking. Any one have any ideas let me know. She got a 5o% off gift certificate for anything in the Dance Gallery store which we promptly used for new jazz shoes. They are usually $40 there and Wal Mart has had them for $15 but they don't have any and neither does Payless .... they carry ballet and tap but no jazz. And the store in the mall is like $6o. So we felt she got them for a fair price. At least one we could afford.
.......Last month MIke and Gina and the kids were here and we all went to the ocean for a couple of days. Two of the pictures are of that trip.... and one is f rom our outing to Seattle to have dinner at the Crab Pot. Aundrea went along and we all had fun. At the Crab Pot they bring your dinner and dump it on the table on butcher paper and give you a board and a mallot and you dig in. It is an experience. They do have other things like fish and chips, burgers etc for those who are not fond of crab, clams, muscles, shrimp, sausage, potatoes and corn. They also have some of the best sour dough bread I have ever eaten.
.......The weather at the ocean was damp (rain!) and wind. But we had a good time anyway. Matt and Chelsea and Audrey (thier friend) were down there camping so we all met for dinner. Matt said that the Shilo Inn was not any more pricey than anywhere down there so that is where we went. I think he meant for breakfast?? It was very pricey. Mike and his 2 kids got a pizza which looked good...... Aundrea got a childs hamburger and the rest of us got chowder and salads. It was very good tho.
.........The next day we went to the beach for awhile and then shopped at all the little srores and then went back and flew kites. It was really too windy to fly them but the kids had a good time trying anyway.
.........Sarah from the Humane Society, baby sat our animals. She took the doggie kids to a ball game. I thought she was nuts but I am sure they enjoyed it and she took good care of them. She is a vet tech so has no problem giving the meds and shots.
.........Next week I am going with A on a field trip. As I understand it, it is to the Seattle center for a kids play. I wonder if that means I can sneak upstairs and get a STarbucks? And I hope there is not too much walking involved and it doesn't rain or get to hot or....... I am just to old for all of this.
......I also got my handicapped permit for parking. My dr said I was not disabled enough but his nurse beat or threatened him... and he signed.
