Last night I put in a lonnnnng post and it disappeared... so I will do a short one and see what happens.
.....We have adopted another dog... she is very tiny and fluffy and does just what she wants. Her name is Daisey and she is about 7 years old. She is a pomerainian. She is very quiet and when she does bark it almost sounds like she has laryngitis.
........ok, this next part is copy and paste from an email that I sent last night.................
This morning I called out to the shelter to see when they planned to do something for the cat with the broken leg. It took me 3 tries to get through to Chris and she put me on hold to get to Renee and that took 3 more tries. The new automated phone system only works when it wants to and today was not the day. Renee said to come out and get some pain meds for her and set up a date for the surgery. So we went out and met Josh who asked when she had her last bandage change. ha ha ha.... never? So we went home and got Sallie. Josh changed her bandage and gave her some meds for pain and and made an appt for surgery. Good to go. So I told Roy to take her to the car and I will be right out. I wanted to use the bathroom. OH that was a BAD idea. I got in, close the door, sit on the throne and look at the door. There is a sign on it that says... the latch on the door is broken and if you can not get it open,,,,, knock loudly and we will come let you out! Well HELL. Now if I had seen this sign before I went in, I would have stayed out. Ok so of course I can't open the dang door. I can turn the stub of the knob to get the latch in and I can even put a credit card in to hold the latch open, but I can not get ahold of anything to pull the door open. So I banged. And banged and banged some more. Then I found the plunger and used it to beat on the door. So I got my cell phone out and was going to call Roy to come open the door. Ha... his phone has NO time on it. So I call the shelter number. Remember how much luck I had earlier? Well my luck hadn't changed. So I am banging with one hand and dialing with the other....... no, I cannot get through on the shelter phones. DAMN!! This has gone on about 10 minutes or longer..... I have no idea. I finally think that I have Renee's cell number in my purse. I hope she carries her phone during work ...... she does! I explain my plight and she comes and lets me out. She looks to see what is wrong with the door and sees NO knob. I tell her if the sign had been on the outside of the door I wouldn't have used it. WHAT SIGN? I take it down and hand it to her. Man she just went into orbit............. The sxxt hit the fan. She took off to find the shelter manager with the paper in hand. I left and came home.

Dec 12, 2006
......Well it has been a day or so since I wrote anything. 2 months to the day. The long awaited dinner auction is over and was a success with just a bit of friction. Aundrea's dress was lovely and she had a blast. The smaller girls got to carry auction stuff around for people to look at and she was thrilled. Since then we have had several performances and this week end is the big benefit show. We don't have to do anything but show up with the kids so they can dance.
.......We went to the humane society a couple of weeks ago to pick up a cat that had a broken leg and needed a place to live for awhile. While we were there I found what I thought was a pomerainian puppy. She was very small and adorable. Well she was NOT a puppy but 5-7 years old and she now lives with us. Her name is Daisey and she has a mind of her own. She is very quiet but bossy with Nick. He was just getting to like being an only dog and then she comes along and tries to take over. She is very different than Cleo was but just as bossy. She is also not housebroken. Maybe that is why she was dumped? But we are working on her and she finally consented to use a puppy pad. Now that may have been a mistake on her part but we are hoping she will get used to it. On the plus side she was trained to a kennel so she is willing to spend time in a carrier. She eats in it and sleeps in it. We got a dog bed out of the basement and she loves it. She is too tiny to get on the couch or chairs ( and out vet said not to encourage her to as she has bad knee. Runs in the breed....) so she was doing fine and along comes Nick and jumps in and takes it over. She got in too and he growled at her. What a snothead. Do Eileen gave me the cat bed that looks like a tv set..... cute and she jumped right in. Great.... so who is sleeping in it now? WELLINGTON.
......back to the cat with the broken leg... Sallie... She is a big yellow lady. Very sweet and she will be loosing her leg soon as it is not healing and it is very messed up. So our vet in his "wisdom" or lack there of.... took off on vacation. This morning I called out to the shelter to see when they planned to do something for her. It took me 3 tries to get through to Chris and she put me on hold to get to Renee and that took 3 more tries. The new automated phone system only works when it wants to and today was not the day. ......The whole event reminded me of a time when we got locked in to Mike and Gina's bedroom. Only Mike finally heard us banging. Oh and the time Dianne got locked in the bathroom at Johnny's Dock in Tacoma or the one in the hotel in Seattle..... some how I think she was watching and laughing and snorting coffee at me!!

......My friend Jo, came down from Canada last week. She came to have a lunch with some friends from the internet. Her trip down was not a good one. She missed the turn for Edmonds and the ferry and had to go through Tacoma in rush hour.... she called me and said she was at Fred Meyers, I was going to tell her to wait and I would come get her until I discovered she was at FM in Tacoma. So I gave her directions to get back on the freeway and just follow it and then to call me when she was at our local store and I would go get her. She finally made it and we had a great visit that night. The next day she went off to lunch and came back to say that the fella she was meeting was a toad. So we called Eileen and she came out for dinner and we had Pizza and killed a bottle of wine. We had agreat visit and then the next day I took her to look at the new waterfront businesses here. When she was ready to leave, we put Nick in the car and drove up to Kingston, to the ferry and had her follow us. She said it was a much easier trip home. And Nick had a outing. While we were waiting to make sure Jo got on the ferry, I saw a lady carrying a dog that looked very much like Cleo, except no black on the face. It seems Nick saw it too, cause Roy said that he whined and yipped, I guess he thought his Cleo was coming home.
........Sunday, I had Michelle and Aundrea meet me at the fabric store to look at patterns for a dress for Aundrea for the Major Motion dinner auction. We finally found a pattern that we all agreed on and then we found some material. While we were in line to have it cut, we found some we liked better and it was cheaper. So now we have pattern, material, zipper, thread.... last night Aundrea asked me if I had worked on her dress yet. No I have had other things to do. "Well what is more important than my dress?"..... Well mayby the top I want to make to wear to Yakima next week. ;-)
...........Tuesday, Michelle called me about 10 minutes after school had let out and told me no one had gone to pick up Aundrea and could I go. She would be right over to pick her up at our place. OK, so I sent Grandpa and called the school to let them know because I figured she was in the office by now. The lady answered and I told her who I was and what I wanted and she said she was not there but she would look outside. Ok... so I am placed on hold. FOREVER. Finally she came back and picked up the phone and said."this is Terry, how can I help you"? I said I was still looking for Aundrea. OH, Aundrea. Well she would call her teacher because she was sure she must have gotten on a bus. NO. she doesn't ride the bus, we always pick her up in front of the school. Well maybe she walked up to the road. So now I am again on hold.... finally I hear the truck coming back and I look out and still on hold, mind you, see that the kid is with Grandpa. They are in the house and I am still on hold. Finally she comes back to tell me there just are no children at the school. I said never mind her Grandpa has her, he picked her up in front of the school while she was out side trying to locate her!!!

A Girl Named Katie
The neighbors behind us are the paternal parents/grandparents to the neighbors to the front of us. Katie, the youngest child was in Aundrea's class and the two played together when ever possible when not in school. This was before the children were all sent to Oklahoma to live with the maternal grandparents, because the family thought the house was sold and they would be moving soon. Ok so not so soon as they thought but it is now sold and they will be moving.
..........which is a very long way around to explaining why Aundrea asked me "why did Katie's family have to sell their house?" They didn't have to but Katie's mom told me that they were selling because they could get enough out of it to pay cash for a home in Oklahoma and live with no house payments and Katie's dad can work anywhere. Her family is there and the Paternal family will follow them where ever.
.......Now Katie had a very different story. She said that they had to go to Oklahoma because her grandpa had a hernia and couldn't lift much so they needed to help him. By now we know that Katie tells quite good tales. In fact the child only resorts to the truth as a last resort. At one time she said that they couldn't move cause the landlord was very mean and wouldn't let the other people have the house. One of her other famous stories was that a boy at school had stuck a long needle (hypodermic type) into Aundrea's backpack. He was trying to stick it into Aundrea but she moved. I asked Katie's mom if she had heard this and she said no but if Katie said it, ignore it. Perhaps these stories are why Katie is often confined to her room and cannot play with the other children?
........On another thought altogether, I wonder why people don't put down roots like they used to. When we moved to this house, almost everyone had been here for years. We have been here now, more years than I can count. Well I can count them but don't care to. Our roots here must go all the way to the center of the earth. Or at least our children will think so when we are gone and they have to dispose of our stuff. I am attempting to lighten the load somewhat but there will be plenty for them to do.
............It does seem to me that people don't stay like they used to. Or have we gone back to the days when the west was being settled and people were moving west in covered wagons? Our wagons are now moving vans and the trip is shorter in time anyway. In our circle of friends we seem to be the minority. Most of them have moved several times. Mostly for work or military service. Still I wonder if we missed out or are the winners? If you base it on the sheer volume of STUFF, we win I am sure. Of course we are the minority when it comes to staying married too and I am not sure if that is presistance or stupidity or laziness.

.....Just to update anyone interested... it is now Friday night and Aundrea has yet to go back to school. She has however been to the dr x2 and will go again tomorrow. She is sick! Well now she is actually better. She should be because she has had about $250 worth of medicine in that tiny little (NOT SO MUCH THESE DAYS) body. Somehow her state ins lapsed and they can't seem to get it going again so it was fortutitous for her that she got ill before I paid any bills. Now I will pay fewer bills. Oh well......... the important thing is that she get over this. She seemed better today.. I think the meds are finally kicking in.
......Callie, the new mamma... got out!! This NOT a good thing. Roy was outside doing what ever he was doing and he looked up and she was sitting on the truck watching him. She didn't fight him when he went to bring her in. Her wee one turns out is a he... had icky stuff on his rear parts and smelled bad so since she wouldn't take care of him I bathed him and THEN she bathed him. She is not a good mama. Since we have had them, I have seen her maybe 2x actually nurse him. SHe is also terrible skinny and we are trying to fatten her up but she is a picky thing. She must have been treated like royality at her previous place.
......We took Frankie in on Wed and she got spade (Iam sure that isn't spelled that way but can't figure out how) and a micro chip and went to live with Robin and Elaine. She is such a sweetie that I am sure she will gte away with murder. Next week they will get Bandida. Hmmm I wonder what color Christopher's cat is? Both of these are white or nearly so and both dogs are white...... Do I see a similarity here??
.....Well I am off to bed... as Aundrea is home with her mom, maybe I can sleep past 8 am tomorrow.

........I know it has been a long time since I posted but I thought I had done it since Aug.1! Oh well that will just make this one longer to catch up. Last weekend we went over to Tacoma to help move Robin into a new place with new room mates. It is a really nice house and has a big backyard for the doggie kids to play in. Of course in the process of bringing in the truck (can you say rent a monster truck?) some one, who ever was driving which time, ran over the sprinkler's for the neighbors house. He was very nice about it sort of....he just said something about please keep your truck out of my yard. Off to a good start with the neighbors already. But the other neighbor tells us that he is really easy to get along with so maybe if they replace the sprinklers or what ever it was... Anyway we took Albertson's chicken and potatoe salad and bread and lemonade and every one was better after a rest and some dinner. I don't know if the 3rd room mate has moved in or not.
.......For some reason school started on Aug 31 this year... seems dumb to me but it was supposed to be for "more teaching days". Seems if they had a few less early out days they would have plenty of teaching days. So on Thursday they went til 1:30... and Friday Aundrea didn't go at all cause she has the crud. It started out with the bug everyone at dance has had and went into the darn nasty cough that just makes us crazy. Her mom got her on some steroids and breathing treatments so we hope she will be back on her feet tomorrow for the great return.
......Dance starts this week. On Wed she will have ballet and jazz and on Mondays she will have performance and competition jazz. At least it is only 2 days a week. Tho on Wed she dances at 4:30 to 5:30 and then again at 6:30. So I guess dinner on Wed will be what ever we take with us.
.......Friday we took our kittens out to get vacinated and weighed. 3 were big enough to stay but we brought Frankie home cause Robin is adopting her and one other and the shelter said there was too much chance of her being mixed up and give away so to keep her and bring her in on Wed to have surgery on Thursday. So while we were there, we got another mom with one little one to bring home. The mom is named Callie.... how not origional... our Calico was called Callie many many years ago. But she is really sweet even if she does try to push out all the screens so she can get out. We have to really watch the doors. Her baby is 4 or 5 weeks old so as soon as mom gets some of the milk dried up she will go back. The new baby just jumped into the middle of the pack. Frankie, who Robin is adopting is pure white and deaf. That is the 3rd or 4th one we have had at the shelter over the summer that was white and deaf. The other one she is taking is siamese and looks like she is wearing a mask..... I call her bandida but Robin calls her Smeezie or some such.
.......Last Friday after we took the cats to the shelter and back home we went to get our prescriptions and a few groceries and came home and I put dinner in the oven. The phone rang immediately and it was Joyce saying get over here, I baked you a birthday cake and you need to be here at 6 for dinner. So I took dinner out of the oven and put it in the refrigerator and we went over. She had invited Terry and Barb and Barb's mom Norma and Lynn and Jessica. And Marcel who is living with Mike and Joyce. . Michael grilled steak and ribs and it was delicious. It was a fun evening. Barb's mom is a nut. I just love her.
........Saturday was Roy's mom;s 88th birthday. There was a gathering at Estella's for her. Gene's daughter Kim flew in from Denver for it and Merle's daughter Michelle was there with her 2 youngest ones. Her daughter takes ballet and jazz at Just for Kicks in PO. I told her to bring her down to the Dance Gallery so she could try out for the dance team. We will see. but it would be fun. Lora's grandaughter Cheyenne was there with out her mommy. Her mommy Laura, was at the rodeo.... I wore Aundrea's pink cowboy hat and Cheyenne got ahold of it and it is now hers. I guess I will have to get A another one. She just had a ball with it. Anyway it was anice day and a couple of Grandma's old friends were there too.
.......Sunday I was at PetSmart and got there to find no paper work and no bags ... I called the shelter and they said that Chelsea was coming down. OK... so 1 1/2 hrs later I called and Jason said he would have her call me. So another hour and I called and said never mind I am bringing the cats back and closing. So here comes a volunteer on her way to lunch bringing me more cats. I said fine just leave them and I will take them back with the others cause I have no paperwork and couldn't do an adoption is I wanted to. So she left and came right back and stuck a cell phone in my face and said George wants to talk to you. Who the hell is George?? So I talked to him and he said to stay there and he will bring me the paperwork. I said no, i am bringing everyone back. I have no paper work and by the time you get here I will be cleaning up anyway and I also have a sick cat. So Roy was there and we cleaned up and took every one back and I gave the sick cat to Josh to look over and I asked him who was George. He said he is from animal control and is manager when Judy is not there. Oh well so I probably ticked off someone in charge and the volunteer is probably on the board or something. OH WELL, that is the way it goes. So now I have to write a email to Melissa so when they accost her on Tuesday she will know what went on.
Til next time................................

........Saturday was Roy's mom;s 88th birthday.

Aug 1 2006
it is not yet 6:00 pm and it has already been a crummy day. It started ok, got the kid off to school and put some chicken in the crockpot and got ready to go pick her up for dance. Matthew was here and I had him call the garage and see what it would cost and when they could get my car in for a diagnostic. I never did hear the price but it really doesn't matter cause they could get us in a week from Monday. So Matt called the Ford garage and the first question they asked was what kind of car....93 Ford Taurus. So another 10 minutes or so ensues and the guy says OH...sorry but we don't work on anything over 10 years old. *&(^% So he called Firestone who I don't much like but hey .... they said bring it in. The cost was only 2x as much as the first place (wonder why they are so busy?) but less then the Ford garage.
....Ok it will go in and I will take the truck with the slipping clutch and pick up Aundrea and take her to dance. So Roy leaves, Matt leaves, and I try to leave. The TRUCK WILL NOT START! I am sure I don't need to tell you what I said. Use your imagination. I called Roy's cell phone and guess where it was.... on the table in the living room. Matt usually has No time on his but hey, I tried it anyway. A miracle... he answered. He was at the gas station so I told him to go get Aundrea and bring her here and try to get the truck going. In the mean time I called Firestone and asked if an OLD man with a red car was there and they gave him the phone. I told him the car wouldn't start and he asked me if I had the clutch pushed in all the WAY! Pooh, I forgot. I only drive the truck about once a year under protest. So Matt got here with the kid and he moved the seat up for me cause that sticks and I was going to put a pillow behind me.
........In the meantime the shelter called and they want the kittens back. So I said ok, after I get home from dance we will bring them out. So we are driving out to Port Orchard and I am driving slow... under the speed limit. People are going past me like I am a snail. Well too bad. Well we get there only 15 minutes late and it all goes well. We come home and get the kittens out to the shelter. We come home and Michelle is here early to get Aundrea. So we gather up all her assorted stuff and where is her homework? She handed it to me when she got in the truck and I put it somewhere....... who knows. So BAD GRANDMA lost the homework.
I am sooooo glad I put the chicken in the crock pot or there would be no dinner.
And the car......it will only cost $600 to bail it out.

July 7, 2006
......I can't believe it is July already. What happened to the rest of the year? It has been hot here and then a few days of not so good and now is turning back to sunny and bright and warmer again.
.....I made a bunch of the neck coolers and sent them to the kids. I also made some for Eileen's nephew who is in Iraq, for some reason he thinks it is hot there.... can't imagine why. I have also make some for dogs. Will try one on Nick and see if he will wear it.
.....On the 4th we barbecued some meat and I made a polynesian salad.. well that is what it was supposed to be. I opened the shredded cheese and looked at it and said to Roy.. it is full of bugs. He looked at it and said no it is ON the cheese. Mold? No. Then HE read the package. I had gotten Nacho cheese thinking it was the taco blend and it had jalapeno peppers in it. So our salad had a zing to it. Caribean maybe? Not so good anyway. LOL
...... Last night we took dinner to our friend's Joyce and Mike. It was really good. Then we all (except Himself who does not do such) got in the hot tub. We were relaxing and visiting and all of a sudden Joyce said "Michael there is a slug behind you on the wall." So he turned around and snapped it RIGHT INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE HOT TUB!! I was sure that neither of us two women could move that fast at our ages. Joyce just flung herself over the edge and was on the deck. She tried to get her feet under her and landed on her butt and slid aways on her back. Then we were all laughing so hard she could not get her feet under her. Finally Roy helped her up and she went to sit in a deck chair. Where was Michael? Fishing the slug out of the tub. YUCK!! Joyce didn't go back in, I wasn't going to but decided the water was full of chlorine and so would have killed most any germs. Sometimes we just have WAAAY too much fun!! Too end an almost prefect night we went in the house and ate brownies with ice cream and chocolate sauce and raspberries on them.

June 27 2006
......This last week seems like a month. Cleo got sick and was in the vet for several days, then she got pnemonia and there was just no chance of her recovering... we had to put her down on Thursday. We are very lost with out her. But at the same time do not have to worry about her getting her meals and meds at specific times. Nick doesn't care when as long as you feed him.
.......Dress rehersal was on Friday at 12. That meant we were supposed to be there at 11. Then they had to stay for the next one at 4pm.... we didn't because it was just too darn long. There are 2 shows, one in the afternoon for the younger kids and some of the solos and one in the evening for the older group. Performance team closed the first show and then all of Aundrea's dances were in the second show .... The show was on Saturday and it was 2 very long long days. But it was a great show and the video this year is wonderful. We had a real true professional do it and we had a live feed to the dressing rooms backstage so we could watch it as it happened. I can't wait for it to get here and then I will have Marc make me a couple of copies of Aundrea's dances. I wish Icould have a copy of the little little ones in the "chicken" dance. They were in tiny little black leos and had multi colored feather tutus and wristlets. One of the little girls had had enough by the show so she entertained the audience doing a strip act with her feathers.
........Our weather yesterday broke records for high temps. I have no idea how hot it was but too darn hot. The upstairs stayed hot until very early morning. Today was alot cooler but still hot. I would have driven up to Lorna's to swim but it was too hot to even do that.
.........I went on the school field trip to SEattle Center to see a play....(good grandma points here.) It was Junie B Jones and Monkey Business. It was a pretty cute play and the kids got to see fire trucks and it was a wonderful day weather wise. UNTIL we tried to get 2 school buses on the ferry coming home. They would not let us on. We hadn't made reservations. Of course no one knew we had to. So we had 2 buses with at least 50 1st and 2nd graders and rush hour traffic in SEattle and Tacoma. It was just too much fun. I have to say the kids were very good and it was a reasonably quiet trip home.

........Today is one day short of 12 years since I quit smoking. So I am congratulating my self!! I have now NOT smoked for almost half as long as I smoked.
.......In my last post I said that Aundrea was not going to do Major Motion but that has changed. Marc pointed out to us that we didn't read the whole thing. She will still perform with the performance team but she will take 1 extra class that will be a competition jazz class. This means she will do more competing so we must now look for sponsers. I have NO idea where to begin looking. Any one have any ideas let me know. She got a 5o% off gift certificate for anything in the Dance Gallery store which we promptly used for new jazz shoes. They are usually $40 there and Wal Mart has had them for $15 but they don't have any and neither does Payless .... they carry ballet and tap but no jazz. And the store in the mall is like $6o. So we felt she got them for a fair price. At least one we could afford.
.......Last month MIke and Gina and the kids were here and we all went to the ocean for a couple of days. Two of the pictures are of that trip.... and one is f rom our outing to Seattle to have dinner at the Crab Pot. Aundrea went along and we all had fun. At the Crab Pot they bring your dinner and dump it on the table on butcher paper and give you a board and a mallot and you dig in. It is an experience. They do have other things like fish and chips, burgers etc for those who are not fond of crab, clams, muscles, shrimp, sausage, potatoes and corn. They also have some of the best sour dough bread I have ever eaten.
.......The weather at the ocean was damp (rain!) and wind. But we had a good time anyway. Matt and Chelsea and Audrey (thier friend) were down there camping so we all met for dinner. Matt said that the Shilo Inn was not any more pricey than anywhere down there so that is where we went. I think he meant for breakfast?? It was very pricey. Mike and his 2 kids got a pizza which looked good...... Aundrea got a childs hamburger and the rest of us got chowder and salads. It was very good tho.
.........The next day we went to the beach for awhile and then shopped at all the little srores and then went back and flew kites. It was really too windy to fly them but the kids had a good time trying anyway.
.........Sarah from the Humane Society, baby sat our animals. She took the doggie kids to a ball game. I thought she was nuts but I am sure they enjoyed it and she took good care of them. She is a vet tech so has no problem giving the meds and shots.
.........Next week I am going with A on a field trip. As I understand it, it is to the Seattle center for a kids play. I wonder if that means I can sneak upstairs and get a STarbucks? And I hope there is not too much walking involved and it doesn't rain or get to hot or....... I am just to old for all of this.
......I also got my handicapped permit for parking. My dr said I was not disabled enough but his nurse beat or threatened him... and he signed.

.......Saturday night we went to dinner with my friend Kathy, who I went to school with and who now lives in San Diego. She and her husband Bill are up visiting grandkids. So I set up a dinner at Puerto Vallarta in Gig Harbor as it was a central location for all of us. There is a sign at the off ramp saying the resteraunt is that way and a big new shopping center there so I figured we could all find it. I gave Kathy and Rose (another schoolmate in Tacoma) my cell #. Origionally we were supposed to meet on Sunday but had to change to Saturday. So I emailed Lorna and Rose. As Roy and I were on the road Kathy called and said what is the name of the jplace cause we can't find it. So I told her and she said oh we passed that, so we can find it again. So now I know it is not in the shopping center so we tour around and around and finally I had to call Kathy to ask her where it is!! Well we had a great time tho I would have liked to visit with her more but still it was good to see her. Rose didn't make it and when I called her on Sunday to be sure she didn't go on Sunday... she told me she had not checked her email in days. Darn. I would have like to see her. I will have to call her and make her meet me for lunch one day.
.....On Thursday Lorna called me to confirm everything and told me I was to go back to my blond hair cause she doesn't like the red. So of course on Friday night I added more red to it. Roy says he doesn't care what color it is as long as it is not blue. And Kara at the dance studio says it is "Sassy". I will wait to see what Gina says. Tho Kathy said she wasn't fond of it either. Robin doesnt' like it..... the odds are adding up against me.
........Today the long awaited envelopes were handed out at dance. Instead of having the kids try out for Performance Team, they decided this year it will be by invitation and just because you are on the team dosen't mean you will be back. Well Aundrea got invited to do competition level jazz which would make her a company dancer. Much as we would have liked that for her, the cost is MUCH, and also the time commitment. She says she just wants to stay on the Performance Team and not have to take 5 or 6 dance classes a week. She is only almost 8 and that is a lot. Maybe in a couple of years she will want it and then we can find a sponser for her as most of the girls have to have a sponser. It can run as high as $300 a month just for classes and then travel and show fees and costumes. I wonder if Paula Abdul wants to mentor a little girl?? Probably not.

What Happened To My Blog???
........I posted a blog on April 28. Did anyone see it? I sure didn't. I can't even remember what it was about. Makes me mad.......... Oh Well. But if it happens again I will have to move maybe??
Mama June & the Blue Fuzzy Snood
.....First I know I will have to enlighten some of you to what a Snood is. It is a lacy kind of bun cover for you hair. Ballerinas sometimes use them to keep the hair out of the face. Well I got a pattern to knit them and it takes about an hour so I thought I would make some for Aundrea and some of the other dancers. I chose a lovely blue fuzzy yarn. I made it and it was on the end table near my chair, waiting for me to find some ribbon for it.
......I had removed June from the table several times as she was hunting for a treasure to play with. She does this alot... a small bead is worthy of several days of attention. A ball that lights up or her furry green mouse are all time favorites. We have to watch her and her choices as she sometimes swallows the treasure and then urps them up, always in the window on the sill so it can drip to the floor. (Sorry if I ruined you lunch there!). A couple of days ago I looked and the blue snood was gone. I spent considerable time looking for it and could not find it. I knew Mama June had taken it but where to was the question. Roy finally found it under my table. It had NOT been there earlier as Aundrea had looked. So apparently June had just 'borrowed' it.
.........This silly cat has been no end of entertainment since she joined our group. Cleo and Nick get a treat at bedtime every night and Mama June caught on to this quickly and now follows us upstairs, meowing for her treat just as Cleo runs up barking for hers.
............. It is spring and in our house that means that there are new born kittens to be taken care of. Our first batch of the season arrived Sunday. We have named the mom Sami. She is part siamese and is really a pretty cat. She has 4 kittens... 2 orange, 1 black/white and 1 that is either going to be gray or brown tabby. I will try to add a pic of them. I am not very good at that yet so bear with me.
.............I waited several minutes and No photo. What? You say I have to push buttons and stuff? Well I did. So what I will do is post this and then see what happens and try the photo later.

WHY SHOULD I CARE???
..............If you have been listening to the news today you have heard all the crap about Tom Cruise and his girlfriend's baby......Is it going to be a silent birth? What is it? What does Scientology believe? Oh and are her parents angry that they are not married?
........Now can anyone tell me why I should care? Yes I hope the little one is healthy. But Tom Cruise is a Horses A--, which he has proven time and time again on various tv programs and he is not the only person in Hollywood whose girlfriend is having a child. So are Brad and Angelina..... and I care equally as much about them.......practically none.
..........As for the Scientology bit, does it make a difference what religion you are or aren't if you have a baby? How can you have a silent birth? I for one hope the baby cries!!! My children were born sort of Catholic and the church was in no way involved, not did they tell us to be quiet or scream or whatever. I was there when Josh was born and it was reasonably quiet..... no interference from the church there either, tho I am sure there were prayers being said for the safe arrival. In Aundrea's delivery room we were watching Gilligans Island....it was forgotten as the birth took over.... there again the only religion was the private prayers for the safe delivery. Michelle and Gina both may have added a prayer for getting the show on the road and the pain stopped!!
............I am sure we will continue to hear about it daily until the little one arrives... so for that reason I hope it is soon. Oh and in my opnion, it is a boy. Sure hope he doesn't grow up to be a jerk like papa. I think Tom's ex did a good thing when she took her kids home to Australia!!!

MURDERER!!!
.........I want everyone to know that my husband is a murderer!! Yes he looks meek and mild but when the chips are down he is a murderer. This morning he set out to clean the gutters knowing full well that he and Marc had watched a bird build a nest in the end of one. Well he just took his hose and blew that nest to shreds. Then he captured the EGG!
.......His story is that he looked for the nest and didn't see it until it blew up. SURE, sure. So know I have a itsy tiny orphan egg on my counter. What can I do??? Nothing?? I have considered tucking it in my bra for the duration but there is not much in there to warm the little bugger and then what if I smush it as I likely would................. So I guess I just have to accept that there will be one less bird of this variety in the NW this year. Just PLEASE, no one report us to the SPCA or GreenPeace. OK?
........Oh and when the daddy bird came looking for his nest, what does hubby do? He appoligized to the poor bird. I am so sure the bird was impressed.

............Last week was spring vacation for Aundrea and I had promised her that I would take her to the shelter to play with the puppie up in the barn. So on Thursday we went out and we decided to go in to the main kennel first.............Oops! I know better than that. We looked at all the cats and dogs and found a little shitzu that was just so dirty and matted I couldn't stand it so we thought we should give the little guy a bath. Being me and always doing things ass backwards, we bathed him and then I was looking for something to cut the matts out of him with... I asked Stephanie in recieving and she said to ask Rene. So I found her and she said come in the surgery. She got out the clippers and I held him while she trimmed the big matts out,(she said I should have cut out the matts first.....That isn't the way I did it with Mona, years ago...But I guess she really was right).... we couldn't just cut him short all over, which is what he needed cause that is against the rules. Have no idea who made that wonderful rule!! Anyway as we were working on him someone called her on her radio and said there was a dog up front that had been hit by a car. She went up and came back with a little pomerainian.... I can't spellit...... she looked her over and then asked me to come and keep an eye on it while she went up front... Aundrea stayed by the little one we were doing so he didn't jump down and hang himself and I went to watch the other. I had my hand on her and kept moving it and looking and well there was no danger of that dog going anywhere. She had already gone to the rainbow bridge. Rene came back and I said very quietly ' I think she is done"... so she checked her and wrapped her in the blanket and said "I will just put her in holding". We finished the little guy and then I put him in his kennel and took a pekenese up to be checked. See once they discover that there is a volunteer in the place there is no end to the things that need to be done. We did finally get to go up and see the puppies. They are in the barn because the puppy room is closed for cleaning since we had a case of parvo. As we went through the gate to the barn we discovered a rabbit that had to be looked at. Aundrea discovered that there was also a rat running about. Well with animals and feed etc... yes there are rats. They even have special food for them.(Decon)
...........There were 4 puppies up there, 2 are friendly and 1 is very shy and 1 is just plain mean. He just sits and growl at everything that moves. We held the friendly ones and I sat by the cage of the shy one with the one I was holding and finally he came to the front of the cage to be petted. He just needs attention. After we were done with the puppies I told Aundrea there were horses in the pasture. Well she took off up there like she was on a mission. There were in fact 2 horses... she got to pet them both and she said she had never seen "real" horses before. I wonder what she thought those at the fair were? I think maybe she just meant she hadn't ever been up close and petted them. When we got home she told everyone about the horses. She had a very busy day.

.........Ok, just to finish thoughts from last time... we found the darn jazz shoes in the lost and found. Aundrea is so used to me going behind her and gathering stuff up that she left them where she took them off at and I was not there....... I guess it is time for some lessons on picking up ones dance gear.
.........Roy and I have been walking a few days a week. I wish I could say every morning but we don't. Still some is better than none,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I think. So far we do a quarter mile at a time and when I go to the car my hips barely bend to allow me to sit down. I guess I need an oil can. I wonder what will happen if I go a half mile? If it ever stops raining here I plan to walk in Port Orchard while the kid is at dance. This will hopefully make me feel better and keep me from wanting to smack a couple of the dancers silly. One of the little darlings was downright rude to Jessica's mom last night and I think Cheri wanted to belt her. I almost gave her a talking to about respect for adults. Am I old enough to do that to other peoples children and just be considered a grouchy old lady?? Anyway there is a long block with only a small hill near the studio and I figure I can add that to my itinery the 2x a week that I am over there.
...........Today I am finally cooking the Christmas Turkey that would not thaw for then. We didn't know that the extra fridge in the garage was turned up to use as a freezer. So dinner should be done for a couple of days at least.

...........First a couple of "community" things.... the other day Himself and I made a trip to Grocery Outlet and then had to go to Albertson's in Silverdale to get a prescription. For some reason he chose to take the back roads. Something he always accuses me of wasting time doing. Anyway we drove out through the area between Tracyton Rd and Hwy 303. There is so much clearng and building going on there. It is all chopped up for housing developements. No1.. I was under the impression that there was a hold on building in this Co and you could not subdivide.... Himself tells me t hat is only Joe Average Citizen, not contractors who pay the proper hand. Anyway one of the things we saw was a place called Pheasant Ridge that is down in a sort of valley and a little farther on we saw Blueberry Meadows that was on the hillside. Hmmmm, wonder if someone switched the signs.
......On my way to PetsMart today I passed Farmland Feed and Pets... on the reader board they always list the breeds of highly overpriced puppymill puppys they have. Today it read......JR....Shitz....Cock. Ok that really means Jack Russell, Shitzu and Cockers but it sure looked strange. On the way home I noticed the sign had been taken down.
..........Now on to the real stuff. This week it took one full grown grandma and one small child to lose a pair of jazz shoes. I have no idea how or where. She had them on Thursday at dance and this week when I looked for them they are not here. She had had to wear them the week before because I lost one of her dance paws. Now dance paws for the uninformed are a small elastic thing that resembles the toe portion of a sock with minute slits for the toes and has a non skid pad on the bottom to protect the ball of the foot. They cost $30 a pair. If I could find the correct pad and elastic I could spend $2 and 20 minutes at the sewing machine.
......Grandpa found the errant paw in the car. The jazz shoes are not in the car, the dance bag, the living room or the laundry room. There is a very slim chance they got put in the wrong sack and when home with the dancer but I doubt it. I think they got left at the studio and if we are REALLY lucky we will find them in lost and found.
......In the meantime since the paws are so pricey I found a place called Discount Dance online that has Foot Undeez. These resemble mens briefs for the foot............... and cost only $13 a pair. But the smallest size they had was a childs med. The paws were a xs. So I asked Brianna's mom what size Bri wore as she is close in size to Aundrea. She said a med so that is what I ordered. Unlike the Marcea co who have still not sent the correct size dance pants, Discount Dance was very quick and we got them in 3 days. They were soooo very tiny. We wresteled one on to a foot and Aundrea said they were too small. Well did she think that they just needed to streach some. She said look at the color of my toes. Ok they are several sizes too small. I took them to dance to show the moms and we laughed alot and then compared them to Jessica's. She and Bri had Med alright. But med adult. Do not ask what size an adult wears.
....One last word about Discount Dance. When the Undeez came they sent a catal0g. Aundrea saw it and said "Grandma that is the man from Dirty Dancing on the cover!!" She thinks Patrick Swayze is the coolest. Quite possibily the best dancer she has EVER seen. She was really impressed when I told her that Kathy (RAy's daughter, who Aundrea calls the singing lady) knew him.

..........It has been a while since I posted. Not much new happening but still staying busy. A couple of weeks ago on a Thursday, Aundrea had a substitute teacher. She was telling me about him and finally mentioned his name was Mr Johnson. I asked her if she remembered the the man I worked with at PetsMart and she said that was him. Then she said... Grandma he dresses like a monkey's uncle. Well I have no ideawhat a monkey's uncle dresses like but I said I thought Bill dressed like everyone else. She said no... "when I saw him I said in my head, why he dresses like a monkey's uncle." She said he had on a tie that had stop signs, and skateboards and dogs all over it. I am dying to call Bill but she made me promise not to tell him. I will when I see him.!! She did say he got a premanent job at West Hills starting the next day so I was happy to hear that.
........I filed the income tax online like I have the last couple of years and they sent it back like they have each time. I made the same stupid mistake each time. I keep insisting that Roy's mom ought to know when he was born and gave his real birth day instead of the "official" one on his birthcertificate. Maybe one day I will get it.
........Today was Michael Peterson's 60th birthday and the rules were we were to spend 60 cents on a gift. (wonder where they thought that up?) Actually I told joyce about Dianne's 50th where we each spent 50 cents. It takes some coniving and scrambling cause as you know you can't get much for 60 cents. I wrote Old Man Peterson a check. His brother in law, Jim, sent him a cookie that cost a $1 and cut off 40% of it. HE got a lot of very creative gifts. Terry and Barb got a package of pens for $1 and took 4 of them out.
.......The vet increased Cleo's meds and she is doing much better.... KNOCK ON WOOD!! She will have to go back next week I think for another blood test. Each on costs $55 or so but what are you going to do?
.........And finally..... after 11 years we are going to find out who the father of Nick's brother Aaron is. The state needs a DNA test. Not me. I will be EXTREMELY surprised if he is NOT Matt's. He looks like Matt. He has MY teeth and the red hair that runs in our family. Sam and Mark are getting a divorce and she is being a real witch about every thing. She is going to find her self in jail for welfare fraud and Tod for tax fraud cause Mark has claimed Aaron, rightfully as he is legally his, so had Tod for the last 5 years. Oh what a tangled web we weave when we try to decieve. And finally Sam will not be able to play guilt trip to whoever she thinks she can get the most out of b ecause we will know who he belongs to. I really feel bad for the kids cause they lose no matter what. Matt may go for custody and I will demand his name be changed... or at least hyphonated..

......Well Mama June is firmly ensconsed in our home. She usually makes her bed in the bathroom laundry basket. She is determined to make Bud and Wellington play with her. Wellington just may give in. He follows her and watches her, so maybe soon.
.......Aundrea finally has "Power Jazz" pants. I was looking at the ones on the rack that were not her size and talking to Kara and Kara said to try the kids large on her cause they were so expensive. She also said from now on just get the body wrappers... they are just fine so much cheaper. So we tried them on and they are too long but otherwise fit fine. By next season they will be perfect. I may cut them off some or maybe I will just tuck them up on the leg parts.
......Cleo is having a bad time with the seizures. She had like 6 last week and the dr said to increase her meds and if she has a seizure between med times to give her another dose. Well Sunday she had 3 in 1/2 hour so we gave her a dose at 5pm. Her regular dose was due at 9pm and so I had to call the emergency vets to find out if we should give her the regular one. He said no. She has been fine since but she sure worries me. They come in clumps now and that is not good. We have a maybe new vet on staff at the place we go and he thinks we may need to add another med to her growing list. I just want to tell them they have to fix her cause she is my baby. I swear the next dog I get will be stuffed.
......our kitties all went back last week and as of Sunday were all adopted already. I think the gal working recieving when we went in, took Thelma cause she sure fell in love with her. But Renee was not working that day cause of more wind damage and no one told her that the kittens had come and gone so today she had Kaye call me and tell me to bring them in.......... Oops, seems someone doesn't give messages. Anyway there is not a single kitten in the place out there and not all that many big cats either. This is a good thing but I am sure it is only a fluke and not a growing trend!

CHRISTMAS IS OVER!!!! I am sooooo glad. Our stars got up and so did the deer... but now EVERYTHING is down and put away. We had Don and Eileen out on Christmas Eve and then went to Joyce and Mike's for Christmas day. Eileen came too. She was afraid she would run into Cheryl there but I kept telling her that unless it is a full on family reunion, Cheryl doesn't get invited to anything. Any way is was nice and quiet. We had terrible wind storms the night before and early morning and lots with out power but ours was only off briefly an jp and Mike got thiers back early on.
......The benefit show the dancer did was wonderful and the pants did not appear. As of today they are still not here and the receptionest at the studio said she was not sure they were even ordered. The least they could do is pay me interest on the money they are holding. Yesterday after ballet class the teacher asked Aundrea and 2 others to stay and told them they were moving up to ballet 4. Aundrea was so excited. Her friend Jessica did not get to go and that upset both girls. They have danced together since they were 4 years old and have always moved up at the same time. I still don't know why Jessica didn't get moved up but tonight was the first class and Aundrea was shy and holding back so the teacher let her just watch. She has danced with all of these kids before, most of them in ballet but she was just unsecure. Next week she will be fine cause she now knows she can do what they were doing.
......We are having such an interesting time with this group of cats. We adopted Mama June and she took to raising the orphans. Then she went into heat for about 5 days and nearly drove us all nuts. The other night one of the boy kittens did something awful (I have no idea what) and she put her paw on his head and pushed it to the floor and just held him there and stared at him for about 30 seconds. Later Bud swatted one of the boys and Cleo took him on and then Nick ran in to seperate them (we call Nick, Sarge!) and then Mama June jumped in the middle of it just to let Bud know they meant it I guess........... I just picked up the spray bottle and kept squirting until everyone went to neutral corners.
......And one more animal thing... we had some little appetizer thingies that look like quiche but aren't. Roy gave PapaRat one along with some french fries
and he grabbed it and the fries and took them in his house. A second later he came out with the cheese thingie and tossed it out the door. I guess he was displeased!
.......We had a lot of rain in December and our septic system along with many others in the county, was backed up and flooded. Flushing the toilet has been a trip. It took a lot of coaxing with the plunger and some swearing to get it to go. The other night I forgot to check the water level and flushed. Just as I let go of the lever I looked down and said $&*^*# and grabbed the plunger... but not before I got my feet wet. Tonight as Roy was "encouraging" it to work properly it gav e a large BELCH and seems to be fine now. I hope so cause we can't use the washer either and Roy went to the laundramat to do 2 loads and it cost 17 quarters a load for one and 7 or 8 for the other + drying. Well I guess we shouldnt' complain when we think about Louisana and then California is really getting wet.
